Girl 6 years

A 6 years old girl that was attacked by a hyena some 3 weeks ago. This happened not far from Soddo in south Ethiopia.

The girl lost her right leg and right hand during the attack. The hyena also ripped off a large part of the face of the child. Really a horrible accident.

The child was admitted to our unit last Wednesday, - 5 days ago.

Today I changed the dressing in the face. The wound looks better now. After one week or so, we need to cover the huge defect of the face with a flap. The child lost her right eye.

4 other small children lost their lives from the same hyena the same day.
